Saving Throw Fortitude

You transform a thrall into fine dust particles that invade a creature's body and begin transforming their body into a statue made of pure enhanced bone. Destroy a thrall within range, and choose a living or undead creature within 60 feet of where the thrall was. The creature begins solidifying into pure bone depending on its Fortitude save. Creatures already made purely of bone, such as skeletons, are immune to this spell. An incorporeal creature slowed by this spell loses the incorporeal trait and all associated resistances for the duration of the spell.

Critical Success The creature is unaffected.

Success The creature is Slowed 1 and has weakness 5 to bludgeoning for 1 round.

Spell Effect: Calcification (Success)

Failure The creature is slowed 1 and has weakness 10 to bludgeoning for as long as it's slowed. The creature must attempt an additional fortitude save at the end of each of its turns; this ongoing save has the incapacitation trait. On a failed save, the slowed condition increases by 1 (or 2 on a critical failure) as bone growths creep across the creature's body. A successful save reduces the slowed condition by 1.

When a creature becomes fully unable to act due to the slowed condition from calcification, the spell then ends, leaving the creature Petrified permanently as it becomes a bony statue. The spell also ends if the slowed condition is removed, which causes the bone to break off harmlessly.

Spell Effect: Calcification (Failure)

Critical Failure As failure, but the target is initially Slowed 2.

Traits

Uncommon

Something of uncommon rarity requires special training or comes from a particular culture or part of the world. Some character choices give access to uncommon options, and the GM can choose to allow access for anyone. Less is known about uncommon creatures than common creatures. They typically can't be summoned. The DC of Recall Knowledge checks related to these creature is increased by 2.

Concentrate

An action with this trait requires a degree of mental concentration and discipline.

Focus

Focus spells are a special type of spell attained directly from a branch of study, from a deity, or from another specific source. You can learn focus spells only through special class features or feats, rather than choosing them from a spell list. Furthermore, you cast focus spells using a special pool of Focus Points—you can't prepare a focus spell in a spell slot or use your spell slots to cast focus spells; similarly, you can't spend your Focus Points to cast spells that aren't focus spells.

Manipulate

You must physically manipulate an item or make gestures to use an action with this trait. Creatures without a suitable appendage can't perform actions with this trait. Manipulate actions often trigger reactions.

Necromancer

This indicates abilities from the necromancer class.
