This impossible spell is more devious and insistent than most. While all impossible spells long to be used, this spell relentlessly urges those who learn it to destroy everything in their path. The blast of liquid fire created by this spell brands the soul of those who are touched by its flames, dealing 2d12 fire damage to all creatures, structures, and unattended objects in the area. All creatures damaged by this spell are marked by fire for the duration of the spell.
When you Fuel Pyroclastic Truth, all creatures marked by fire take (@item.level)d12 persistent, fire damage.
Lethologic Mark You understand the true desire of fire to burn away your soul. Whenever you take fire damage, you become Frightened 1. Additionally, if you're reduced to 0 Hit Points by a fire effect, you instantly die and are turned to ash, and your soul is cast into the Plane of Fire to burn for eternity. To heal this mark, you must perform an atone ritual in both the Plane of Fire and the Plane of Water.
Heightened (+1) The initial fire damage increases by 2d12, and the persistent fire damage increases by 1d12.
Traits
A rules element with this trait is one-of-a-kind. The DC of Recall Knowledge checks related to creatures with this trait is increased by 10.
ConcentrateAn action with this trait requires a degree of mental concentration and discipline.
FireEffects with the fire trait deal fire damage, or either conjure or manipulate fire. Those that manipulate fire have no effect in an area without fire. Creatures with this trait consist primarily of fire or have a connection to magical fire.
ImpossibleAll impossible spells have the impossible trait, which labels them as spells that can be cast only once in a creature's existence. After casting a spell with the impossible trait, the same creature can't cast any spell with the impossible trait ever again. An hour after casting the spell, the caster starts experiencing the consequences detailed under the spell's lethologic mark entry. The entry also includes how the effects of the mark can be healed. Spells with this trait are also more difficult to counteract. Any counteract check against the spell gets an outcome one degree of success worse than was rolled, and any effect that would automatically counteract the spell fails. Spellshape effects cannot be applied to impossible spells.
ManipulateYou must physically manipulate an item or make gestures to use an action with this trait. Creatures without a suitable appendage can't perform actions with this trait. Manipulate actions often trigger reactions.
