You permanently alter a creature's appearance, typically by sculpting new features by applying clay and coloring it with appropriate pigments. These transform the target once they see their new face and accept it as their own.
The target keeps their same size, ancestry, heritage, statistics, and traits, but you can adjust any other aspect of their appearance, including hair color, facial features, gender, and height (while remaining within the same size category).
You can't attempt to change the target's appearance to that of another specific creature; any attempt to do so results in unexpected but obvious differences.
Critical Success You change the target's appearance as desired. Until this appearance is changed, any future attempt to sculpt appearance on the target gains a +2 status bonus to the primary check.
Success You change the target's appearance as desired.
Failure You fail to create a new appearance for your target.
Critical Failure The ritual's magic turns on you, and for the next month, the features of your face change and sometimes even disappear at random intervals when you try to speak with someone or hide these unprompted alterations. During this time, you take a –4 status penalty to Deception, Diplomacy, Intimidation, and Performance checks.
Heightened (5th) You can adjust the appearance of your target's ancestry and heritage. This does not change their traits, size, or statistics.
