Source Pathfinder Impossible Magic
Price 1,000 gp
Weight negligible

The ink on these tattoos, made from the crushed crystalline fangs and wingbones of sceaduinars, lends a dull purple-black hue to your arms and hands. During combat, the ink moves of its own accord, coalescing into nine smoky crystal spurs of darkness; these eerie finger-like protrusions move with an unearthly grace on your command, supplying the requisite magical gestures for your spells.

Activate—Shadow Fingers 1 (concentrate, shadow, spellshape)

Frequency once per 10 minutes

Effect If your next action is to Cast a Spell with the void trait, your spell loses the manipulate trait and gains the shadow trait, as the tattoo's shadowy spurs perform the gestures in your stead.

Traits

Common

Anything that doesn't list another rarity trait (uncommon, rare, or unique) automatically has the common trait. This rarity indicates that an ability, item, or spell is available to all players who meet the prerequisites for it. A creature of this rarity is generally known and can be summoned with the appropriate summon spell.

Invested

A character can invest only 10 magical items that have the invested trait. None of the magical effects of the item apply if the character hasn't invested it, nor can it be activated, though the character still gains any normal benefits from wearing the physical item (like a hat keeping rain off their head).

Magical

Something with the magical trait is imbued with magical energies not tied to a specific tradition of magic. Some items or effects are closely tied to a particular tradition of magic. In these cases, the item has the arcane, divine, occult, or primal trait instead of the magical trait. Any of these traits indicate that the item is magical.

Tattoo

A tattoo is a type of item that is drawn or cut into a creature's skin and usually takes the form of images or symbols.
