Activate Cast a Spell
This catalyst is made from twisted sapling bark harvested under a full moon. When used to cast a Charm spell, the spell creates a blissful experience for all targets of the spell. When the spell ends, even if you Dismiss it, the sudden mental dissonance between the charmed state and reality forces all targets of the charm spell to attempt a Will save against your spell DC.
Critical Success The target is unaffected.
Success The target is Stunned 1 or, if the spell ended because of a hostile action, Confused for 1 round.
Failure The target is Stunned 2 or, if the spell ended because of a hostile action, confused for 1 round.
Critical Failure The target is Stunned 3 or, if the spell ended because of a hostile action, confused for 2 rounds.
Traits
Anything that doesn't list another rarity trait (uncommon, rare, or unique) automatically has the common trait. This rarity indicates that an ability, item, or spell is available to all players who meet the prerequisites for it. A creature of this rarity is generally known and can be summoned with the appropriate summon spell.
CatalystItems that have the catalyst trait are consumable material spell components that alter or magnify specific spells. Activating a catalyst is part of Casting the Spell. The catalyst might increase the number of actions required to Cast the Spell, as indicated in the catalyst's Activate entry. Additionally, the spell gains the manipulate trait if it didn't already. Because the catalyst becomes part of the spell, you can draw the catalyst as part of Casting the Spell.
ConsumableAn item with this trait can be used only once. Unless stated otherwise, it's destroyed after activation. Consumable items include alchemical items and magical consumables such as scrolls and talismans. When a character creates consumable items, they can make them in batches of four.
MagicalSomething with the magical trait is imbued with magical energies not tied to a specific tradition of magic. Some items or effects are closely tied to a particular tradition of magic. In these cases, the item has the arcane, divine, occult, or primal trait instead of the magical trait. Any of these traits indicate that the item is magical.
