A circular labyrinth is etched onto this tome's cover, its lines shimmering silver. Touching the book causes a sense of faint discombobulation.

Activate—Bewildering Walls f (concentrate, mental, spellshape)

Frequency once per day

Effect If your next action is to Cast a prepared wall spell, such as Wall of Fire or Wall of Thorns, you imbue the wall with an uncanny sense of disorientation, causing creatures to perceive it as an endless labyrinth. Any creature that begins its turn within the wall's spaces or passes through the wall's spaces must attempt a Will save against your spell DC, in addition to the wall's normal effect. Regardless of the results, the target then becomes immune to Bewildering Walls for 24 hours.

Critical Success The wall has no additional effect for that creature.

Success The creature is bewildered by its perceptions of labyrinthine walls and treats all other creatures as Concealed for 1 round.

Failure The creature treats all other creatures as hidden for 1 round.

Critical Failure The creature treats all other creatures as hidden for 1 round and concealed for 1 minute.

Traits

Common

Anything that doesn't list another rarity trait (uncommon, rare, or unique) automatically has the common trait. This rarity indicates that an ability, item, or spell is available to all players who meet the prerequisites for it. A creature of this rarity is generally known and can be summoned with the appropriate summon spell.

Grimoire

Spellbooks are useful tools for any magic user to write down incantations and runes of power, but where most spellbooks are nothing more than ink on parchment, grimoires have absorbed the magic of the spells within—magic that knowledgeable spellcasters can use to augment their spells.

Magical

Something with the magical trait is imbued with magical energies not tied to a specific tradition of magic. Some items or effects are closely tied to a particular tradition of magic. In these cases, the item has the arcane, divine, occult, or primal trait instead of the magical trait. Any of these traits indicate that the item is magical.
