A monster with darkvision can see perfectly well in areas of darkness and dim light, though such vision is in black and white only. Some forms of magical darkness, such as a 4th-rank Darkness spell, block normal darkvision. A monster with Greater Darkvision, however, can see through even these forms of magical darkness.
Construct Armor (Hardness 3)Like normal objects, an animated bamboo figuring has Hardness. This Hardness reduces any damage it takes by an amount equal to the Hardness. Once an animated bamboo figuring is reduced to less than half its Hit Points, or immediately upon being damaged by a critical hit, its construct armor breaks and its Armor Class is reduced to 16.
Spring Forward
The animated bamboo figure jumps up to 30 feet and makes two fist Strikes against different targets. It can use Knockdown following this activity, attempting to Trip each creature struck.
Knockdown
Requirements The monster's last action was a successful Strike that lists Knockdown in its damage entry
Effect The monster attempts to [/act trip] the creature. This attempt neither applies nor counts toward the monster's multiple attack penalty.
Supple but strong bamboo strips woven into intricate patterns form the base of the animated bamboo figure. These materials are plentiful and easy to come by, though they require great care and patience to prepare, making them ideal guardians for isolated communities. These hollow and pliable handcrafts can stretch or compress, jumping and springing farther than most humanoids.
Traits
Anything that doesn't list another rarity trait (uncommon, rare, or unique) automatically has the common trait. This rarity indicates that an ability, item, or spell is available to all players who meet the prerequisites for it. A creature of this rarity is generally known and can be summoned with the appropriate summon spell.
ConstructA construct is an artificial creature empowered by a force other than vitality or void. Constructs are often mindless; they are immune to bleed, death effects, disease, healing, nonlethal attacks, poison, spirit, vitality, void, and the doomed, drained, fatigued, paralyzed, sickened, and unconscious conditions; and they may have Hardness based on the materials used to construct their bodies. Constructs are not living creatures, nor are they undead. When reduced to 0 Hit Points, a construct creature is destroyed.
MindlessA mindless creature has either programmed or rudimentary mental attributes. Most, if not all, of their mental attribute modifiers are –5. They are immune to all mental effects.
